Queensland Government International Student Crisis Assistance Package

The $10 million Queensland International Student Crisis Assistance Package is now live. The fund is to support international students who are suffering severe financial hardship as a result of COVID-19.

The hardship package will be distributed to non-university and TAFE QLD students who are over 18 through the Queensland Government’s Community Recovery Portal.

Before making applications, international students are encouraged to view the eligibility criteria.

For students living and studying at universities in Queensland and at TAFE Queensland, the Queensland Government will top-up their existing financial hardship bursaries to support their international students.

Other available support services

The assistance package adds to the existing support services offered at regional student hubs and the Queensland Student Hub, whereby students can talk to support officers about food vouchers, mental health support and crisis accommodation. Those students not eligible for the Queensland International Student Crisis Assistance Package are encouraged to reach out to the Queensland Student Hub if they are in need of support.
